Window installation is generally a straightforward process, especially for our team of experienced installers at Lifetime Windows & Doors. We have experience working on homes of various sizes and styles and no matter what your home’s layout is, we can help get your new windows installed and ready to go. Many homeowners have questions about what will happen during window installation. Here are some of our frequently asked questions and our answers to help guide you.

Question #1:
How long will the install process take?

Answer:
This depends on how many windows and doors are being installed, as well as the type of install the customer is getting. Your installation technician will confirm all this information at the time of the final measure, after the job is secured and before the products are ordered.

Question #2:
My estimator said that they would test our house for lead. What happens if this comes back positive?

Answer:
We are a lead-safe company and pay close attention in following all precautions when a house is tested positive for lead. For each window that is installed, we will tarp it off, so dust and dust particles are kept to a minimum. We will also ask that all children, pregnant women, and animals are all kept away from the installation area until everything is completely installed and cleaned up.

Question #3:
Do I need to be home during the installation?

Answer:
No, there is no need to stay while we’re doing the installation. We regularly do installations for customers while they’re at work. We can do installations while you’re at work. We treat every home with respect, whether you’re at home or not, so you can trust that we’ll take good care of it while you’re gone.

Question #4:
How does the installation process work exactly? Will the installers take all of the windows out at once?

Answer:
Our installers will work on one window at a time. We will never leave an open space at the end of the day.
